Saturday, for the second time in school history, the Arkansas State women’s cross country team brought home the Sun Belt Conference championship, winning the league meet in Atlanta by eight points over runner up South Alabama. In addition, three Red Wolves finished in the top 11, led by individual runner up and first-team All Sun Belt competitor Pauline Meyer. She and head track & field coach Dr. Jim Patchell visited the KNEA studios for a visit on “The Drive with Brad Bobo” Tuesday afternoon. (By the way, the men’s squad came in second place behind Appalachian State for the program’s best-ever cross county finish in a conference championship meet.)
