One of the big stories of the 2018 high school football season in northeast Arkansas has been the Rector Cougars. They started with a big 15-14 win over Corning, then lost three straight. But a four-game win streak (including consecutive shutouts) propelled the Cougars to a 5-and-4 record, third place in the 3AA Conference, and into the postseason for the first time in 17 years. And this Friday, for the first time ever, Rector will host a playoff game! Their opponent–the always powerful Fordyce Redbugs. Cougars head coach David Hendrix visited “The Drive with Brad Bobo” after Wednesday’s practice to recap his season, and preview the playoff opener.
