No thanks to a global pandemic, the famed Triple Crown of horse racing has faced its own issues in 2020. The Belmont Stakes, normally the final leg of the event, was actually run first this year. And the usual lead off race the first Saturday in May, the Kentucky Derby, is now being run this Saturday–minus the usual 150,000-plus spectators at Churchill Downs. And who does “The Drive with Brad Bobo” turn to for his opinion on what will happen in Louisville? That’s “The Railbird”, Lang Wittman, and we welcomed him on the Ritter Communications Hotline on Thursday afternoon. (BTW, the other jewel of the Triple Crown, The Preakness Stakes, will run on October 3.)
