Wednesday afternoon, “The Drive with Brad Bobo” took a look at sports history. March 20th marked the 65th anniversary of a “David vs. Goliath” battle which inspired one of the greatest sports movies of all time. Tiny Milan, Indiana High School pulled off a 32-30 upset win over powerhouse Muncie Central to win the 1954 Indiana High School boys’ basketball title. The Indians’ story inspired the highly acclaimed film “Hoosiers”. Milan is also home of the Milan ’54 Museum, which displays memorabilia from that historic team. One of the museum’s volunteers, Linda Baurley (whose brother, Gene White, was the starting center for Milan), joined “The Drive” on the historic anniversary.
