The Drive Interview with Paul Boyd–Nov 14 19

Posted by willoswalt on November 14, 2019 in The Drive on KNEA

This year marks the 40th anniversary of a landmark court case that forever changed the landscape of high school sports in Arkansas. In 1974, a lawsuit against the Arkansas Activities Association led to the state changing from the 3-on-3, half-court style of girls’ basketball to full court, 5-on-5 hoops. Fomer Jonesboro Sun sports reporter Paul Boyd, now of the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, recently wrote an article that featured the story of how that lawsuit came to be, as well as another story on some of the best girls high school baskeball players ever in the state. Paul joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” for a visit Thursday afternoon.
