Friday June 5, 2020–a day many fans of Arkansas State athletics thought they’d never see in their lifetimes. It’s the day that University of Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek announced that school will expand its in-state sports scheduling** to include the Red Wolves and UCA…in all sports except football. The decision gives the Razorbacks the chance to cut down on travel costs, and create more regionalized schedules as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. (**: In the 2018-19 school, Arkansas began scheduling other schools in the UA system; they met both UALR and UAPB in baseball in the spring of 2019.) Friday afternoon, A-State Vice Chancellor of Athletics Terry Mohajir joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” with his reaction to the big news from northwest Arkansas today, as well as an update on Thursday’s news of positive COVID-19 tests for seven A-State student-athletes.
