There’s another red-hot high school baseball team in Craighead County that’s not in the city limits of Jonesboro. That team is the Brookland Bearcats, who enter the week with a record of 17-and-1, and a perfect 8-0 in 3-4A Conference play (tied with Pocahontas and Valley View for the league lead.) The Bearcats have three big home matchups this week–a conference doubleheader with Pocahontas, and a Friday non-conference matchup with the state’s top-ranked Class 5A team, the Jonesboro Golden Hurricane. Brookland head coach Bill Taylor joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” in the First National Bank High School Coaches’ Corner on Monday with a look at the big start to the year for the Bearcats.
