Branch Rickey was one of the true innovators in the history of baseball, best know to most as the man who signed Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers. But did you know that he spent a large portion of his baseball career in St. Louis, working for both of the city’s teams? His time with the Cardinals is the basis for a new book, “Mr. Rickey’s Redbirds”. Its author, Mike Mitchell, joined “The Drive with Brad Bobo” Thursday afternoon to discuss the book, and some of Rickey’s history in the Gateway City.
